WooHoo!!! Finished book #2

Well, I have finished the book Codes and Ciphers. I am glad I did because it was really interesting and the last chapters covered the criminal use of codes and they also talked about when the codes were not followed and how it cost a lot of resources.  The very last chapter talks about the Pioneer 10 and the codes on board the "ship" which was coincidental because on the news a couple of days ago, they mentioned that the Pioneer 10 spacecraft just passed out of the heliosphere, which is the area, where the sun loses its influence on objects.

I am now, restarting the book Out There.  I hope it won't take as long the second time around :-) It too was interesting what I read.  But now, that I have more time, yeah snow days, it think the story will be more intriguing.

It continues

I am still reading in Codes and Ciphers. We had 2 snow days here so I got some more reading done. WooHoo.  I believe I only have 3 more chapters to go. Currently I am reading about the PURPLE Japanese code in WWII.   I am always amazed at the intelligence that these people have in decifering out the codes. I can't even do the jumble in the newspaper. Maybe after the end of this book, I will at least be able to do that.

Halfway finished

I am now on Chapter 4 in the book Codes and Ciphers.  It is really getting very interesting and I am glad that I am going to finish it.   I never realized what an important part of history these code makers and breakers played.  As an American, I am even getting over some of my French bias by seeing how they helped in WWI.
I am also getting excited to move onto another book.  While looking through books in the library, I get excited about reading the books in the 300s and 600s of the library.  I am not sure what to do about all the bibles though. I mean it takes many people over a year to read 1 bible. Yikes!!! We will see how it turns out though.

I have restarted again :-)

After having a LOOONG time off I have restarted my project again. I am excited because I am now on chapter 3!!! Woohoo!!! The reading is hard because I try and figure out the ciphers before moving on but once I quit and am just reading the book it is alot easier and the codes are easier to figure out once I have read past that area.

Switching

Codes and ciphers (Undercover)Ok. I had to turn in the book Out There. I had only gotten halfway finished with it but I got another book called Codes and Cyphers by Peter Way.  The cool thing is that is is shelved before Out There so I am reading them MORE in order than before.
Well, gotta go.

On to the next one!!

Out There: The Government's Secret Quest for ExtraterrestrialsWell, I finally finished the consulting book. At the end, I must admit that it did have some basic good career information whether you are in consulting or not.

The next book is called"Out There" and it is a book about UFO's. Talk about going from one extreme to the other. I am very excited about reading it because I think it will not be as difficult to "trudge" through.

New books!!! Sort of...

Well, due to the fact that i am over halfway through with my consulting book, I have checked out the next two books that are in the catalog. Actually there is one in-between and it is checked out, but I have requested it for when they have finished.
The two new books are: Out there and In search of bigfoot. I must admit I think aliens and bigfoot are going to be alot more interesting that starting a consulting business. However, they probably won't be as useful as the other book

Halfway There

Well currrently I am halfway though my first book. It is on consulting and has great ideas, however, I am on the section on marketing and since it was written in 2002 some of the adverstising are a little out of date but overall I am enjoying it.  If I had a skill that were transferrable this would be a great resource for me.

Conundrum

Well, I am almost halfway finished with my first book. The conundrum I am having is that I just signed up for the Johnson City Public Library's summer reading program for adults. To participate in that I have to read books from their library.  They gave me a really cool starfish bookmark when I signed up.
What to do? What to do?
I really don't want to go out of order on the Jonesborough list though, but can I read THAT MUCH in one summer. Fortunately, the JCPL counts audiobooks in their reading programs so I will at least get some done that way.
Have a great day and remember "It all works out in the end. If it isn't working out, it isn't the end."

Another day another 10 pages

I don't know if I am enjoying this book as much as I hope but I will say that if I were going to go into the consulting business it would be very helpful. Right now I am on the section about creating a business. It is something I know nothing about but probably need to.

So far...

I was reading the consulting book and realized that I don't think I want to become a consultant. I was about to put the book up and then realized that the point was to Read the book. Not Agree with the book.
I am also reading my textbooks plus a couple of "just for fun" books so you can see, I kinda read out right now.

It begins

Today I have decided to embarque on a new adventure. I am going to try to read all the books in the stacks of my local library. I am starting off with the Jonesborough Library. It is what I consider a "boutique" library. A little smaller but the information is easier to find and usually more current. Plus, its local. :-)

I am starting with the non-fiction section. I am not doing the oversized or spanish books or the books for those taking literacy classes. May at the end of the experiment I will go back to those.

The first book is Consulting: the business that gerenates mega dollars and puts you in control of your finacial future. I hope it goes well. I have been wanting to do this for a while and what better time that when I am begining my summer break.
